At the New Designer’s exhibition last week, I was approached by the UK Hand Knitting Association. They were on the look out for up-and-coming hand knit talent to enter the Knitted Textile Awards for this year… and my work had caught their eye.
This was very exciting and I promptly completed the entry forms and sent off my application.
The work will be judged on “originality, overall concept and the innovative use of technique, yarns, materials and colour”. Fortunately, our course work can be entered and we don’t need to create something new for the competition.
Fingers crossed they find my work original and innovative!
UPDATE: Unfortunately on this occasion my entry was unsuccessful, although my work was “much admired” by the judges.
